Malware stand for Malicious software. Malicious software is Adware, Bot, Ransomware, Rootkits, Spyware, Trojans, Virus, Worms. Viruses are a subset of malware. I have noticed Antivirus detects only one type of malware that is a Virus and even detects and block some malware like Trojans and Keyloggers. On other hand, Anti-malware detects all types of Malware including viruses. Anti-Malware uses a heuristic method to detect Malware.
Are Anti-Malwares same as Antivirus
From the term Anti-virus we can understand Antivirus detects only one type of Malware that is Viruses and has lot’s of fewer features compared to Antimalware. Less features like it can detect only known virus but What if the Virus is unknown. Therefore, Antimalware uses advanced features and will get continuous updates from Antimalware creators. Antimalware starts to checks every file before users command, Meanwhile if Antimalware find suspicious file they detect them without users knowledge. But Antivirus ask users permission to detect the virus.
Generally Antimalware keeps the Virtual environment clean and healthy. so, in conclusion, Antimalware is better according to me. On the other hand Antivirus companies also adding new features but still they are not enough.

The key features are Real-time scanning, Automatic updates, and also removing threats. But these features are not enough for a computer. Nowadays there is a high risk of Ransomware attacks and other malicious software’s.
So, these features are definitely not enough to keep your data safe. Above all I recommend you to use Antimalware’s.
There is some Antivirus that is very similar to Antimalware’s but they don’t really act as Antimalware.

Therefore Sandboxing uses a new virtual environment where all files will come only after checking there. secondly, traffic filtering means all your web browsing will be monitored by Antimalware’s if they find some unusual activity on the web Antimalware blocks them.
